Outage Center
SWRE provides safe, affordable and reliable electricity to our members. We're continually seeking innovative ways and taking advantage of new technologies to ensure we're meeting that goal. Regardless of how hard we work, it's impossible to eliminate all power outages. Outages can be caused by lightning, high winds, ice or snow storms, a vehicle hitting a utility pole, a small animal causing a short circuit, a mistake by tree trimmers or persons cutting firewood, construction workers digging into our lines or electric equipment failure.

Please be patient if our phone lines are busy during a major outage. Calls are answered 24/7 in the order that they are received. Calling the Outage Hotline (1-833-590-0353) or using SmartHub to report your outage are the fastest, most efficient ways to ensure SWRE line crews see your outage right away.
Never touch a downed wire regardless of how harmless it may look! Stay away from a fallen line and keep others away, too. Report it immediately to Southwest Rural Electric. If you can’t contact us, call the local police or fire department. During a severe storm or widespread outage, it could take some time for us to make repairs. In this case, police and firemen may guard the downed line until it can be repaired.
