Eighth graders living in or attending school in SWRE's service area have the opportunity to win one of two sponsored trips to Youth Power Energy Camp by entering the co-op's annual essay contest.

The annual Energy Camp Essay Contest is open to all eighth graders living in or attending school in SWRE’s service territory. Applications open at the beginning of the spring semester.

Write an original, 350 - 500 word typed essay on this topic: Should electric linemen be considered first responders? Why or why not?

Submit your essay and entry form to SWRE by March 1, 2022.

Eight finalists will be selected for cash prizes. The authors of the top two essays will win sponsored trips to Energy Camp!
PRIZES
Winners (one from Oklahoma and one from Texas): an all-expenses-paid trip to Energy Camp at the Canyon Campground in Hinton, OK May 31 - June 3, 2022.
All Finalists: $50 cash prizes
Teachers: $50 classroom donations (limit one per teacher)
