Newsletter changes coming in August

Have you ever wondered what goes into making this publication? Each month our team spends lots of time preparing this newsletter for mailing. First the content is created, then it is sent to our graphic designer where it is printed. Once printed, over 3,500 newsletters are manually addressed and separated by zip code. A few days later our publication arrives in your mailbox.
Because we value the SWRE newsletter as an essential form of communication to and between our members, our employee team has been working extremely hard trying to figure out a way to save time and money while still delivering the publication you love.
Fortunately, the Oklahoma Association of Electric Cooperatives (OAEC) has provided a pathway to make this goal possible. Without changing the content or forfeiting control of our publication, we will be able to save both time and money by tweaking one small thing – the way the newsletter is delivered to our members. Rather than spending hours and hours manually attaching labels, organizing zip-code structures and hand-delivering a dozen packed boxes to our post office to USPS standard, OAEC has generously offered to handle this for us.
You see, OAEC is behind a monthly publication you already know and receive-- Oklahoma Living Magazine. Your subscription is one of the benefits or being a member of our cooperative. Oklahoma Living is delivered independently to each of our member-owners both in Oklahoma and in Texas. This provides us with the perfect vehicle for delivering the SWRE newsletter. In fact, you can think of Oklahoma Living as the future envelope for the SWRE newsletter. Beginning in August, you’ll be able to find us nestled safely in the middle of your favorite Oklahoma Living magazine.
Don’t worry, we will still provide you with trading post, a delicious recipe and the manager’s report every single month. While we are getting a face-lift from our in-house design team, we won’t be taking our content any less seriously. All of this is in effort to keep our costs low and our time efficient.
Along with our insert newsletter in Oklahoma Living Magazine, all of our member-owners will continue to receive a monthly copy of Texas Coop Power (TCP) magazine. We have locally curated stories inside the TCP publication as well.
For those of you who prefer a more modern approach to receiving your cooperative news, be sure and follow us on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram for up-to-date information on what’s happening with your cooperative!
