Keith Jonas’ Baked Beans



16 oz. bacon

16 oz. pork sausage

1 large onion

1 red bell pepper

1 poblano pepper

2 tbsp. minced garlic

1 tsp. salt

2 tsp. pepper

1/2 cup “Sweet Baby Ray’s” BBQ sauce

3/4 cup dark brown sugar

1/3 cup “French’s” mustard

6 cans of Showboat Pork and Beans



1. Brown pork and sausage in skillet. Drain grease and set meat aside.

2. Cut bacon into 1/4” pieces and fry until crisp. Remove bacon and place on paper towel.  Pour drippings into container for later use.

3. Dice onion and peppers and fry with bacon drippings until they start to brown.

4.  In large foil pan mix all ingredients plus leftover bacon drippings.  Bake at 350 degrees for 1.5 hours. 

5. Bring to work to share with all of your co-workers!
